NEWSLETTER Oct 2017
The last match of this season has now ended and for the first time ever Mick McGarry took a well earned victory with a weight of 6lb 8 oz. Well done Mick.
The overall club champion this year has gone Jason Talacka who over this year took 78 points from the matches he fished, close behind was Chas Dowsing with 70 points and 3rd was Alan Knowles with 67.
There was more weight in fished caught this year than there has been for quite some time. Massive congratulations to Jason.
I enjoyed reading Alan's Report and thought i would post it on here.
"As fisheries officer success is not always catching a big fish, and for me one of the great success stories of this year was to see thousands of roach fry hatch from the eggs on the old keep nets i had put in the
Healey Dell lodge for the fish to spawn on. Another success has been the feeding program which has seen all the fish putting on weight. Finally i would like to say how great it has been to see tench coming out
of the Dell again after a number of years where they were few and far between." I like to thank Alan for his endless hours of work that he has again put in at both waters.
This has been my first year of social media officer with RWAS and i have really enjoyed the challenge. I have created a Facebook page, Twitter account and an instagram profile for the club as well as try and keep
the website up to date. If anyone has any comments which you would like to see please drop me a line.
