NEWSLETTER December 2008
Even though we have had another excellent year on our waters, that man John Kershaw, together with the Committee, have been at it again to try to make things even better for members next year. Even though I say it myself, ( well I would do wouldn’t I, seeing as though I’m doing the writing ), our dedication and commitment is unrivaled, ( well almost ), when it comes to always trying to improve. What I’m simply trying to tell you, is that there has been yet another stocking of fish into both our waters. Yes, it’s true, Christmas (stockings and all), really has come early for Waltons’ members.
Healey Dell …. 100 x 3-4oz crucians, 57 x 4-6oz tench, 35 x 2-3lb bream,
150 x 6-8oz skimmers.
Syke …. 250 x 3-4oz skimmers. (photos on the website).
This of course leads me nicely into the annual reminder regarding the renewal of subscriptions. Subs are due from 1st January 2009, and are as follows :-

Last year we had teething problems with members forgetting to include their membership cards when renewing by post or forgetting to bring them to the subs meeting, so please remember, your membership card is required so that it can be signed by Barry as being valid for the new season. If you have lost your membership card, a new one will be issued at a cost of £5, one passport size photos will be required also.
Just a reminder, for the protection of your stock, please use a landing net sensibly for smaller fish and don’t forget that the temporary ban on placing small carp in keepnets at Syke, is still in force.
And lastly, but by no means least, the President and Committee send their sincere Best Wishes to you and you families for a very Happy and Peaceful Christmas and New Year.
